I like a few anime. Excel Saga's a favorite of mine, but I also like Voltron (the dark nature of the latter almost reminds me of SatAM). And though I'm not that interested in The Melancholy of Haruri Suzamiya, its spin-off I enjoyed quite a bit.

So, I'm not big into it, but I do kinda like it.

Cowboy Bebop for anime and Battle Angel Alita for manga. I loath any of that wide-eyed whacky crap.

Well, my favorite fantasy manga is Dragon Knights. It's pretty darn funny, but be warned, the plot borders on incomprehensible.

Wait a moment, isn't that one of the more 'mature' animes. Almost to the equivelant of R rated to our American standards?

Oh, there it is. Sorry, I couldn't find a thread like this in the search...

Anyway, I was watching Dragon Drive for a while, it's like a Pokemon ripoff that takes more from Digimon, which is what Pokemon rips off anyway. I recently watched all the episodes of Deathnote I missed, and I've never been interested in Manga (Mostly because it's all black and white) but I've been thinking of looking into the manga Deathnote is based off of.

Anyway, cool thread, it'll help me expand my scope on anime.

In my experience, there's a lot of Japanese media that's a lot more "mature" by our standards so this doesn't surprise me. I remember someone saying after watching the uncut DBZ episodes that it's crazy what Japanese children are allowed to watch...

No, Pokémon came out before Digimon, actually.

I need to check the dates then.

Well whatever, not all Pokemon ripoffs are bad. :tailstongue:

FMA was awesome, I stopped caring about the DB series after Dragonball though. Too much fighting in DBZ and GT was just... GT.

    Pokémon: February 27, 1996

Pokémon had been in development since 1990, as well.

Dunno, but since Digimon debuted as a mere digital pet, I would imagine that it wasn't that long.
