“Well, it looks like I’ve got their attention. Just as I wanted to.”
Such were the thoughts that scrolled through the mind of one Blaire Fields like the command prompts on a computer. The Siberian Husky took notice as Leo’s ear twitched, a perfect sign that the bat had heard her speak. “Though there’s the possibility he heard that can rolling instead…”
W-what? How did-? Gah nevermind. Get her!
“Or maybe he did hear me,” Blaire thought with a sly smirk.
The WORKERbot handed Midge to Leo, before calling out to the purple-furred dog as he approached her; “Surrender intruder. You are under arrest!”
“Arrest? Moi?” Blaire inquired, resting her finger tips on her chest. “You don’t know who you’re dealing with, do you?”
With those words said, the nineteen year-old Siberian Husky leapt off the junk pile. She took the incentive to perform a couple of fancy back flips, before landing on the pavement in a crouched down position. It was with a single jump that Blaire straightened out her posture, brushing back her ears.
“Agent Blaire Fields of the Oakland Resistance Division, at your service,” the canine declared, giving a quick salute and wink towards the bat. The roboticized feline paid no mind to the husky’s announcement however, instead picking up speed as he continued towards her.
“Surrender intruder. You are under arrest!”
Blaire simply shook her head, arms crossed over her chest. “Tsk, tsk, tsk. Looks like the robotization process lowers one’s vocabulary. Just another of the reasons why that machine should not exist.”
It was at that very moment that the WORKERbot sprang. Blaire, her lightning fast reflexes working well for her, jumped into the air. The canine then twisted her body backwards into an arch. She stretched her arms out-her palm pressed against the dark grey asphalt and if the violet-furred Mobian had not been wearing gloves, her paws would have gotten small puncture marks on them due to the macadam material used.
When she righted herself, it was with a satisfied smirk on her snout. “Now you don’t want to attack me,” Blaire told the feline-she jumped up to avoid getting hit by his metallic claws as he made another go at her.
“After all-“ She dodged a third attack. “-You’re one of us! Robotnik did something with your mind! I know you really don’t want to capture me or otherwise bring harm to me. And I don’t want to harm you either.”
The cat charged at Blaire then, his head down as he tried to head butt her in the stomach. The dog leapt to the side, effectively evading the attack. “That’s why I am going to apologize in advance for what I am about to do to you,” the husky stated, lifting her saber over her head. In one swift motion, she brought it down, the flat of the blade hitting the WORKERbot’s head.
Dazed, the feline backed up a foot or so-and didn’t get a chance to dodge the kick Blaire threw at him. It was a light punt, certainly nothing that could put a dent in the robotic feline’s metal body. It was, however, strong enough to knock him over.
“Again, I am sorry. As for you…” she turned towards the bat, a smirk on her muzzle. “Why don’t you hand that poor hedgehog over? I am not going to let you bring harm to her. Or,” she tilted her head to one side. “Are you perhaps…”
Bullets and lasers suddenly rained from the sky, forcing Blaire to do some fancy dodging through the use of flips, rolls, and back-hand vaults. Thankfully the only projectile that made contact with her went harmlessly through her trench coat. The husky was so preoccupied with trying to avoid getting hit, that she didn’t notice Leo and the WORKERbot fleeing the scene.
However, Midge wasn’t one to just let someone carry her off. A shrill ‘Help!’ escaped her mouth-one would wonder how much air her little lungs held. But Blaire had no time to think of that. Evading bullets as they came after her, the husky headed into the direction of the hedgehog’s screams.
