Salvation: The Learning, Part II

Time for some new epic SatAM fan fiction.



Salvation picks up around seven years after the conclusion of my previous SatAM fanfic entitled 'The Learning' (original thread here) and I'm envisioning it to continue in a similar vein as a stand-alone tale, albeit with a couple of years' worth of additional forethought and experience to play with. Already I'm finding myself tapping into these deep wells of emotional fuel and inspiration that I had no idea were there and it's very exciting for me!

Wow..... you really gave me an acknowledgement for this?? I'm so flattered........ I can hardly see. Thank you soo soo soooo much, Neon, and if it was truly my story that inspired you to write another of yours, then I am honored beyond all belief. You truly humble me.


I just read the first part...... and wow, excellently written, off to a very exiting tumultuous beginning. I know I won't understand everything that's going on yet until I get to finishing your original story, but I have to say that I am enjoying it and am getting hooked already. Great job, really really great! I look forward to continuing to read this, but I gotta go somewhere this evening. I'll get back to it and keep reading your original too, whenever I can.

@ Hakuzo: Yeah, I do find it interesting to delve into the Japanese folklore side of what would explain a fox with more than one tail... I'm glad you've taken the time to read any of it!!

Chapter two is now up.

I'd actually intended to close up the first part of the story with this chapter, but it just grew and grew... so now I'm hard at work on Day Zero part 3. I'm starting to focus more on getting up to speed on the goings on with all the other Freedom Fighters now, and especially working towards getting into the mind of Nicole, who is really the true heroine of this tale.

Finally read your second chapter.

Your style has really taken off, big time. I truly am impressed. And I'm hooked like a fish, you got me raring for more on this story, it's really excellently written, yes you have improved Drastically since your last run on this universe. I'm really proud of you, way to go!

The next chapter should be going up tonight after I give it a good read-over, returning to Sonic and Tails' perspective. Again I'd intended to finish off the opening act with this chapter, but it's already grown to twice its original intended size So there will be a part four.

It's interesting to find myself switching between two completely different modes of thought, with sections focused on Nicole dabbling more on the political and practical side of things, while Sonic and Tails' passages tend towards a more traditional adventure style. Though eventually, the two separate time periods will converge and I'll be able to return to the goings-on of the Freedom Fighters group, in the vein of classic SatAM material.

And, yes, it sounds like the same thing is happening with you like what happened with me on the last section I wrote of my story. I only expected it to be one chapter's length, but it just kept growing and growing, although, I wasn't able to separate my chunk of writing into more than one chapter, because it turned out to be just one Veeery long scene, as you know.

FYI, I've been looking over my story, re-reading sections and brooding over how I am to continue. I actually think new sections and hunks are steadily starting to develop in my head, and I'm thinking that soon I will be continuing it, as reading your new writing has sparked some new inspiration and developments for my own. Just working on how I will continue to hash it all out. But soon, I'll be writing again, I think. ;P

And yeah, I like how you switch back and forth different time periods, it's certainly an interesting approach. I'm fascinated about how you are developing Nicole, that she is a Queen, and that you intend for her to be the 'heroine' of this tale. I'm very interested on where you go with that. And of course, whenever the romance aspect of this emerges, I'll definitely have my eyes peeled.

Overall, the direction you are going and intend to go so far looks very promising, indeed, and I'll continue to give you my feedback on this as you hash it out. (Is there anyone else giving you feedback besides me? )

Okay..... I haven't had time yet to read your new chapter, But! I just finished reading the next chapter from whence I left off of The Learning 1, so, I give you......

My Thoughts on The Learning Part I, Chapter: Machine of Hate



So, yeah, Whoa!!! That's a lot of action packed into one chapter! And, of course, I like your style of how you always deviate towards describing the atmosphere or the internal thoughts of the characters, and even relations between them, even if briefly, all tied amidst a huge wallop of action! And you describe the action scenes so well, too!

And I noticed something so sublime and perfect. The origin of your screen name. From this very sentence of which I shall quote: ' This world of neon and black shifted and pulsed with
its own malevolent existence. '

Now, I know where it comes from. Beautiful, just beautiful.

There was a scene where Snivley had been in prison, and it reminded me of some art off of a website with a Snivley shrine, with a work that matches that scene perfectly! I always thought this girl's artwork was very deep (not to mention twisted!) but also beautiful. Here's the pic that fits your scene.




Also, towards the end of the chapter, I thought it was a shame what happened to Snivley. :/ I would have liked to have seen his character developed more. But, the haphazard directions the plot takes you certainly leaves you no room to get bored!

So, overall, lots of kudos towards this chapter! Great job!

I got sucked Right into the whole adventure about Tails and Sonic finding the Kitsune klan.....as always excellently written stuff! I could imagine it very well and everything!

And.....oh wow, What a twist at the end! I absolutely can't wait to read the next chapter, now! I don't want to toss too many spoilers to other readers, so I'll just say you are doing such an incredible job on this new story, you truly are becoming a great writer, keep up the good work! I'm sooooooo, proud of you! -tackles and gives huge bear hug- BTW, your stuff reminds me a bit of my own writing in a few parts.

Just read the chapter in The Learning 1 titled 'Snivleys Notes'.

Soo dark, wow.

Makes me wonder where you pulled all that from. What happened to him, was not totally specific, but nevertheless worse than I anticipated..... man, and the cyborgs were a nice touch. Oiiiii, good job, well written. And certainly very dark.

Chapter 4 is up. Starting to focus on more concise chapters, that work to start unearthing some new lore, and expose a few cogs turning.
