Any chance of an update? I missed 1.9 while the link was working.

As always, great work and thanks for sharing! :)

Sorry for the lateness, hopefully this link should work:

These are great news! :sallylol:
Just an awesome start for the day. ^^
Finally, Sally in Sonic 2, heaven yeah! :-)
    *hugs you for the news*

I hope that it will be possible to jump normally like Sonic himself, too.
    As in version 3.1.
If you plan to put the laser from 1.7 or 1.9 into the second game of Sonic, then please boost the range of the laser, because I think that it was hard to hit the enemies.

Would it be possible to combine the same moves from Sonic together with the laser-attacks?
And what about an additionally move like for example a double-jump in the air?

And I am already wondering how Super Sally will look like? ^^
    By the way:
We need a code for Super Sally, because in my opinion it was extremely hard to collect all the Chaos Emeralds.

Anyway, I am really glad that you are still in progress with your work. :)
Thank you very much, E-122 Psi!

Super Sally will be unlockable via the usual cheat code (Sound Test 04, 01, 02, 06), the programming for cheat codes hasn't been altered. Due to awkward pallette layouts I think some might be a tad underwelmed by Super Sal however.

I'm working on imputing the new moves now, with the sprites already inserted, so if you want the unaltered version that still plays like Sonic I can give you it now.

Concerning the laser, it was always intended to be a projectile move which Sally could fire small distance shots at enemies, but I never figured how to program it in. If anyone here is experienced with ASM hacking and knows how to do so it would be helpful.

As for double jump, I did have the idea of a downward laser fire that boosts her upwards, depending on whether the majority want her normal higher jump or said double jump.

woot, Casino Night zone! I've played Sonic 2 the most. I was never very good with Sonic 1 so sally is a bit harder for me to play the game with. Sally in Sonic 2 will be very interesting indeed!

Btw since you are working on my sprite sheet still, anyway you could insert my character into a mod versions of the roms?

I have been experimenting with using the sheet in Sonic 1 actually. I've realised I may have to edit it however, some of the greys are actually too light for the Genesis' palette.

Just to note, Sally in Sonic 1's update is underway. It's updated with the projectile like Sonic 2. I thought I might check this little update with you first before it's finished though:

Sally now has a 'hack' ability.

It's programmed onto the B button, with a unique laser animation. What monitors change into what varies so as to not god mod the move too much (don't expect to turn that batch of ring monitors into extra lives). :P I'm not sure what other objects I could add affect with it (my programming skills are limited), though I could see how possible it is to have it deactivate certain obstacles and what not.

I want to go through this with you guys first since I'm not sure about it. On one hand it's a little extra to making Sally more unique (and is a nice nod to her Mars concept notes), but it also clutters up the controls a little (needing two buttons was already a stretch for the old series, let alone all three) and I worry it might make Sally too unbalanced. What's the verdict?

If it's approved, I'll likely update Sonic 2 accordingly.

And as promised, here is the new revision of Sally in Sonic 1:

    http://info.sonicretro.org/Sally_Acorn_ ... e_Hedgehog

The projectile has been added like in Sonic 2, as has the scan mode attack (press B to use). Try it out on different obstacles and see if anything happens. Some cosmetics such as the pallettes have also been given a bit of a tweak.

Things are still a bit buggy, not all the objects work properly with the scan attack (it also has problems hitting monitors from close up for some reason), though hopefully I can make a bugfix for those in due time. Enjoy. :D

    Another update.

The laser has been bug fixed, Rev 01 graphics have been added and other minor bug fixes and palette tweaks.

I've also followed S2+K's direction and added a couple of hidden bonuses exclusive to Sally. Not very elaborate, but points for anyone who finds them.

Had to upload onto Sendspace since the Retro wiki isn't letting me log in for some reason:

Also a little teaser for the future:
