Can I object to your objection? I've been a member of dA for just under half a decade now, and for every one immature idiot I've encountered (as one is destined to encounter at least one anywhere one goes on the internet), I've met two or three intelligent, talented, and/or kindhearted people, some of whom have become very good friends of mine.

I've been a member of dA for just under half a decade now, and for every one immature idiot I've encountered (as one is destined to encounter at least one anywhere one goes on the internet), I've met two or three intelligent, talented, and/or kindhearted people, some of whom have become very good friends of mine.

Seems to be the opposite for me, the place is crawling with people who cry and lock their comments up tight with the first negative criticism they get, even the helpful and constructive kind. What's worse is that, since these people kiss @ss all the time, they have an army of friends/fans that jump on everyone's cases just because they didn't praise and idolize them. I've been there for four years, and have hardly checked in in the past year because the place is full of so many annoying kids. Need I mention that if you tell them (In detail, and politely, even) that there's anything wrong with their grammar, they'll throw a hissy-fit and cry about how unimportant proper spelling and punctuation? That's some serious immaturity.

Obviously your experience is different, but excuse me if I have concerns about a forum flooded with stupid kids that use netspeak and talk/act like they're in kindergarten.

By the way, I've met plenty of SatAM haters on dA. Wouldn't you know it, most of them are Sonic X fans.

Ah, that might be the difference for me - I don't use the dA forums and I don't usually give constructive comments, except in a few situations.

I don't use the forums either, but I've lurked there, and I made one post on an old news announcement, but can I ask, if you don't give constructive comments, what kind of comments do you give?

its a good idea but i think these rules should be implanted to make things a bit smoother for the mods.

1. no teams aka Bob and Mary can not work on a banner together since its not totally fair (well in my option at least)


2. there should be a register poll or something. since with the large number of members there should be a sign up poll or something and then it goes 'the early bird gets the worm' thus you'd have to sign up for the contest early to get a spot thinking like maybe only 13 people can enter to give a limit example.

Maybe there could be times when a team collaboration would be allowed as a special kind of contest, for those who like that sort of thing...

Although that's bound to cause some kind of drama, though I think such an occurrence would be funny, I somehow doubt everyone would agree.

Haha, if I give comments at all, usually just to say how much I like the piece and why, from a personal taste perspective, not necessarily to highlight something particularly good or bad about a piece.
