Skotty wrote:It was dubbed in German, too. But in German they merged AoStH with SatAM (first all AoStH episodes and directly after that SatAM). That whole was named "Sonic der irre Igel" - Sonic the insane hedgehog (positiv insane I think).
I don't know why they did that but it both series don't fit together, do they?

I can tell you, there only exist the english complete DVDs of SatAM and I'm happy about it.
As you can see in the following Youtube video the german syncronization voices are not very good. Robotnik doesn't sound very evil, Snively not like a toad and Sonic too old for a 15 year old boy.

Hey Skotty, not to derail the topic, but I thought I'd give my views on this aswell! ;)

I personally gotta say, its rather watchable if you ask me, sure the voices don't fit here and there (Bunnie comes to mind), also the voice director made them say their sentences really strange at times and so on. But this is pretty much the only way to show the series to my younger cousins, who don't speak english yet. So, I'm rather glad that I have 14 Episodes in german here on my harddrive for just that occasion! ^^
But to be a little more critical, the only voice I personally can think of that makes a really bad impression on me though is Rotors, he sounds so lazy and uninspired its not even funny. =/
If anything, I'm glad I know the german voices now and its definitely interesting to watch it in my own language, because, you know, sometimes you kinda get bored of the english version a little since you watched it so much, and its good to shake things up a bit with a different dub (any dub actually)! ^^
Eitherway, just my 2 cents, in short I don't mind the german version, its fun to watch, but I prefer the english one. The dub is probably really best for nostalgia and for people who don't speak english.

    On Topic:
The french one is very interesting, I really enjoyed Sally's voice. And since I've seen the Episodes so much, I don't even need subtitles which makes things very comfortable. ^^
Definitely enjoyed it, even though I don't speak french! =)
    Merci! ;)

You are fully right that a german dub, or whatever other language, is good for people who don't have enough knowledge about the english language. I got the problem with some of my friends too. If I want to show the series to friends or watch them with them, I'm the only one who understands (the most) jokes. It's a bit frustrating. Sometimes I wish to have a german version but I wouldn't buy it (because the original is better anyway).
If I personally had the choice, I would prefer to watch the english one, even if I don't understand everything. It just sounds more authentic (and that's important for a serious story).

Oh and: I really don't like Snivelys and Sonics syncro voice. It sounds really far from the original.

Out of topic, but sorry, cannot help but put Sonic & Sally in Spanish, Spanish dubbers tend to be VERY talented since last decade when un-understandable Peruan voicers where phased out.

The voice reading the title card is the very same that voiced K.I.T.T. in Spanish dub of Knight Rider.

All other voice actors had been the same on every Sonic Spanish material (AoStH, SatAM, SonicX...) The consistence feel is great that way. Sadly as Dr Robotnik shared his voice with his AoStH 'twin' he's much less of an evil guy.

I learned some years Spanish (I don't know why but I did never liked it) and you are right. They are really good understandable even for me. The syncro voices are perfect choosen for the age of the characters and even Robotnik sounds evil. Just Snively has a bit deep voice.
About the talent of the actors I can't say anything.

Cool! I wonder what other languages SatAM was in. I would die if I could find a Zulu or Tswana version.

Olivier Korol was not only the French voice for Sonic in AoStH and SatAM, but also SU (which fits due to the show's development in France). And Thierry Mercier voiced Antoine, Rotor, Uncle Chuck, Snively, Cat, and King Acorn.

Was it the Spanish dub that made Tails into a girl?

Oh, so we've found episodes in every language bar Italian, have we? Brilliant. :(

Barely remembering a little french from school, most of this went WAY over my head. Certainly interesting though!

I've been looking everywhere for the Japanese dub, it exists but so far nothing has popped up on the net.

The Arabic dub is interesting as they cut out Sally kissing Sonic in the opening and replace it with a scene from "Sonic and Sally". They probably had to make cuts like this throughout the series for whenever they got too close for comfort.

I don't really know why they used the same song for both shows. Maybe for the kids?...

In Spain they just reused AoStH intro alltogether it was weird at first, once, after "Sonically ever after" they ran actually a whole different show :sonichuh: but because the voice cast was the same as in AoStH at the day even through it was just a second season or something alike...
