That's really a broader question than you probably realise, my friend.

Only the Muff would be able to answer this completely accurately with the actual program names but here's the software I'm imagining (off the top of my head) that would be needed:

Firstly you need a hosting provider, or if you have a computer that can be running 24/7 and connected to the internet, you can host it yourself.

You also need to buy a domain name - like saturdaymorningsonic.com like this place uses. You can get free domain names too though providers will usually append these ones with their own names or something else you don't really want.

• Server software (Apache HTTP server etc)
• Content Management System (Like Wordpress, Joomla, Sitefinity, Drupal etc)
• Forum software (this forum uses phpBB)

That's just what's needed to keep things running. For actually building a site, you still need the above but you have tonnes of tools available for content creation as well.

For writing site markup, I've found Microsoft Visual Studio for Web to be amazing, Adobe Photoshop is rather the standard for graphic content, and FileZilla is great for server-side file management. All of these tools are free with the exception of Photoshop and site hosting fees.

Long story short though, if you're asking this because you want to set up a small site of your own, you might be better served going with one of the free beginner services, which generally do most of the work for you: Try Google sites or if you want to make a forum of your own like this one, there's places like Invision Free that can get you set up.

Neon's got it.

Specifically, I use:

- Adobe Dreamweaver (Mac or PC) and Espresso (Mac only) for coding. Both of these programs have FTP clients built in. But you have to be familiar with at least HTML and CSS to build a website in either of these apps.

- Inkscape and Adobe Fireworks for graphic design & image editing (GIMP is also a good free alternative to Fireworks).

- Hostgator for web hosting and domain registration.

- PHPBB for the forum software. The main site is not built on a CMS. If I were to retrofit it with one I would use ProcessWire.


If you're having trouble reading text on the computer, you can increase the text size in your browser settings. This is a better idea than using the caps lock key.

dude, turn off the caps and just increase your font size, there is a button near the search to increase the size of text.

If you're having trouble reading the default font size, you can click the "A" button next to the search link in the upper right hand side of the page to increase the font size. Or, you can lower your screen resolution in your Windows or Mac settings. OR, you can adjust the font size in your web browser's settings. You're not going to convince the rest of the web or the members of this forum to write everything in all caps, just like you're not going to convince book publishers to publish their books in all caps (thankfully).

I'm making a new form for star track. But my new sites menu is disappeared I get a notice saying this menu has been disabled how can it be re able ?

I think this menu was supposed to be for the opening form list but I can't be sure
