The most logical way to bring Satam back

Postby SailorMoonMobian on December 27th, 2014, 10:40 am

Ok now hear me out: Realistically I highly doubt that Satam will ever come back but incase it ever did this would probably be the best way to do it. :twansurrender:

Now if your an anime fan you would most definitely have heard of DragonBall Z.

Back in 2008 Toi animation decided to revamp the show to make it more loyal to the manga by removing 90% of the filler segments (look up anime filler if you don't know what it is) and cleaning up the footage putting it in HD and releasing the show with roughly the same voice cast with some replacements...

That is the only way I can see Satam returning. clean up season 1 of Satam remaster it get the cast back ( :tailstongue: Tails would obviously need a new voice since correct me if I am wrong but his voice actor passed away)

If it is successful remaster Season 2 and if that's just as good or even better then you can make Season 3! :D

Tell me what your thoughts on this are. Do you think this would work or not?

I think it would be a SatAM Reboot. It would be kind of different & a little bit more Sega friendly.

In all honesty, seeing that time has completely come and gone over the years, it's best to leave the animated 90's cartoon alone and start over from scratch.

Why waste money on an expensive antiquated means of animation, when you can get higher and better digital quality nowadays? It's also best to go with at least the current stream of consciousness for this generation of consumers who find the series interesting in the least bit.

The only way this show can make a comeback, and ideally, it's not likely to happen, is if it gets greenlit to come and go freshly new with trimmed filler and basically main storyline substance.

But I'm not really an animation expert to come and say that. I'm more of just someone whose watched and listened to lots of media over the years to come and say what I believe ideally works and what doesn't.

To be honest if/when SatAM does make a comeback it will not be from the official Sega source; it'll be from long-time fans reviving it. Now, more than ever the average fan has more power to create things and much, much easier. It seems to be the way things are going right now with other IPs too: the fans are taking over.
We need to not only look to wot is "Cannon" or "Official" anymore.

well if I had the power in a realistic sense to bring it back I would get the Animators from the old G4 Marvel Animators and get MTV to get interested in taking offers from cartoons that didn't get green lighted on cartoon network,Nick and DisneyXD or just people who didn't like Adult swims policies and reboot two things at once...trust me Cartoon Network,Nick and Disney has not green lighted things that should of been green lighted at least somewhere else. Digital is okay in my book but errm not always the best way doing things. I am Unsure if MTV has any ties with Warner Bros I hope so.

I wonder if you could even hire some of the old voice actors again, it's not like professional actors never appear in fan productions.

I think it would be common sense by now that basically anyone can come and do it and not necessarily the fans per se. I mean, if anything, our generation taking over is common sense of people being in the workforce industry who happen to be our age, happen to be working people in there.

Rather, I'm just going to come out with it and say it that working in something like this, is probably and most likely no different than working some lousy s*** retail store job at the mall that doesn't pay diddly squat.

As for the cannon of the series... I think stuff like that would be left up to major scrutinous debate not with just the fans, artists and so forth, but working with regular people like you and I who want to come up with a product that can be presented and projected in a way that's unconventional and unique in a way that's yet to have come and been done before.

Nobody really likes cliches anymore in this day and age. People tend to go after more novel things than something that's contemporary followed.

I've gone to many animé conventions and talked with producers and voice actors and one thing that seems to be consistent is that voice acting and even most of producing doesn't pay well. I've been told time and time again that voicing commercials is where the money is and voicing animation is more of a hobby.
I was really surprised when Aaron Dismuke, who did the voice of Alphonse Elric in Full Metal Alchemist was bagging groceries to make money and the voice acting was only side-work that didn't make much.
Earlier this month I talked to Eric Stuart who did many voices on Pokémon and such; I am amazed at how little difference a studio like Fun-I-Mation and many fan products there are.
I will say this though: a lot of "fan fictions" out there, (and I'm not just talking Sonic here), are getting better than wot is "cannon." It's time that we creators and consumers of these great art and stories and prop each other up and not marginalize excellence by saying "it's just fan fiction."

It is honestly getting to that point.

The talent pool collective is getting bigger and better over time.

You'll come across a lot of talented artists online like dA and writers for fan fiction, who all eventually come up and get big.

I mean, if the Twilight series got big, any series can get big.
